Salzburg is another town that deserves a visit.
I went there when I was in Munich and spent there a weekend (by train is less than 2 hours and not that expensive if you buy a Bayer ticket) and we had a blast!
Once you arrive in the city it’s impossible not to know that you are in Mozart town… You have indications to the house where he was born, where he lived, where… you got the point… lots of history…
“Sound of the Music” was partly filmed here and those spots can also be visited.
From the Hohensalzburg Castle you get some of the best views to the Austian surroundings and they are amazing.
In the surroundings of Salzburg (reachable by bus) we can find Hellbrunn Palace. It’s a castle with no bedrooms, used as day residence and well known by the “watergames” in the grounds... It is worth the visit… You cannot imagine what they have imagined without being there!
Have fun! ;)
