MY BAG

This will be a quick post…
Many of my friends say my bag is my face… I will share it here… and I think it will be easy to understand why.
It was love at first sight! I went to Parfois with my sister so she could be a new bag and once I put my eyes on this one… I knew it was gonna be mine! Lolol ;) I love to travel… don’t know if you’ve already noticed ;) and yes… no words needed…lol

DISNEY, A MAGIC WORLD

Many children dream to visit Disney, the fantasy, the magic world!... I dare say, I believe not only kids have this dream! At least, I speak for myself.
A few years ago, when my brother should be around 10 I went to Disney, and I’m not really sure who liked it more, him or me and my sister… I felt like I went back several years and I was a kid again from the moment we arrived to the entrance. Everything takes you to another world completely. I can now say, I miss that and I hope to go back in a near future! :)

Once in the park we have a lot to see… From Fantasyland, Discoveryland, Frontierland to Adventurland… passing in the Walt Disney Studios World… and it’s always growing, so there’s always something new to see…
My favorites are Fantasyland and the Studios… but I have to say I don’t like roller coasts… For the ones that like, Discoveryland, Frontierland and Adventurland are I would say, mandatory, they have some that just by looking I would say you would like (and they make me shake)!!!

It’s an experience I recommend to everyone at least once in a life time! :):)

ALCATRAZ, THE ROCK

A prisão é imponente!
Dentro da prisão, ver o processo todo, a entrada onde entregavam a roupa, celas, onde podiam andar, onde comiam e as solitárias... assustadoras!

4 years ago I had the opportunity to work a month and a half in California for my company, more exactly in a small town called Mountain View near San Francisco. While I was there, along with 3 work colleagues on the weekends we explored what the city and its surroundings had to offer. I will share in the future my adventures. :)
I’ve been watching Alcatraz, a new TV series and the scenarios have brought a lot of memories of our trip to the island. So, I’ll start by this adventure!
Arriving to Pier 33 to catch the ferry (only way to reach the island) near Fisherman's Wharf should be done with time since there are a lot of tourists visiting “The Rock”. So, that’s what we did in a very windy day (usual in San Francisco) of April.
On the ferry trip we have an amazing view of Alcatraz. I can imagine it should be scaring to the prisoners back in the days. The prison is monumental!
Since 1963 that is closed and officially no one ever escaped the island (if you check my first and last photo I believe it’s easy to understand, either they were caught or drowned).
Inside watching the whole process, the entrance where they left the clothes, the cells, the yards, solitaries… frightening!
But it’s not only the view arriving there that is amazing. The view from Alcatraz to San Francisco is breathtaking! :) We took some great pictures (only the wind was unnecessary, the hair is crazy).
Hope you like it!

BERLIM

As promised here I am to continue my last travel description now with Berlin.
After 4 days in Dresden we caught a train to Berlin and in 2 hours we were in the capital of Germany. The Hauptbahnoff (central station) is something itself and gives you a great welcome to the town.
Here goes my BERLIN Top 6!

TOP 6 – Check Point Charlie
Once in the city we had to check it out since it was an important part of the history - the crossing point between West Berlin and East Berlin.

TOP 5 – Holocaust Memorial
Well, if you go to Berlin I recommend a stop in the Memorial to the Murdered Jews in Europe (free entrance) where their entire story is told because as it is said when you enter the museum “It happened, therefore it can happen again: this is the core of what we have to say”.

TOP 4 – Museumsinsel
Who already visited Venice will understand why this captivated me... The museums involved in the river channels give an amazing atmosphere… that I could not imagine in the middle of a city like Berlin. During the day is great to see but by night I would say it’s amazing. According to my sister in the summer is great to seat and enjoy (now it was too freezing).

TOP 3 – Reichstag
A monumental building filled with history (now home of the parliament). Unfortunately we were not aware that to visit the dome we had to schedule with 2 days in advance and therefore it had to stay to a next visit (it should be a nice visit and is also free).

TOP 2 – Brandenburg Gate
I have to say that before visiting Berlin this was one of the few points I had already heard about (besides the Berlin Wall of course)… one of the former city gates is also one of the landmarks of the city.

TOP 1 – Berlin Wall/East Side Gallery
This for me was what marked my visit to Berlin. Of course I had already heard about the Berlin Wall, I was a kid when it fell. But this 1,3 km of art is impressing! The best gallery I’ve ever seen. I end my post with the best images (for me)... See you soon!!
See you!!!

DRESDEN

I’ve spent last week on holidays with my sister in Dresden and Berlin and will now share my experience. I feel these 2 cities offered me a lot and will split this in 2 posts.
Dresden can be seen in 3 days and you should go prepared with the german basics... because even though the city is amazing… 95% of the people don’t speak a word of English… not even in the tourist spots.
I’ll try to give my Dresden Top 8!

One of the days if you can get a car you should visit the palaces that exist around the town. They are wonderful; we have to say that the August the Strong made a lot for the city and was madly crazy for castles.
You may start by Schloss Moritzburg, with a baroque architecture and a lake around it (frozen when I was there), it presents you a fantastic view. (TOP 8)

Then follow to Meissen the town of Meissen Porcelain, and if you want lose your mind and buy something, the castle and Cathedral also offer you a fantastic panoramic. (TOP 7)

Already in Dresden you should see the River Elbe Castles. You have the Albrechtsschloss (now a culinary school), the Lingnerschloss (a café with low prices – one of the conditions of Lingner when leaving the castle to the city in his testament) and the Schloss Eckberg (a hotel). (TOP 1)

Then you have the 2 days to explore the city center and visit one of the castles easily reached by bus.

To finish the so called Castle tour you should visit the Schloss Pillnitz. This castle is also on the Elbe and on the summer can also be reached by boat. The Castle has asian elements which makes it special. (TOP 2)

Near the castle you find the Blaue Bridge, also known as Blue Wonder, which is said to have been originally painted in green but with time turned blue. (TOP 3)

In the city center we have several points of interest.
Frauenkirche (TOP 4), the women church was one of the several monuments that have been destroyed in the bombing of Dresden on the 2nd World War. Only in 2004 the reconstruction has been completed. Now is one of Dresden landmarks.

Brühl Terrace (TOP 6) offers you some fantastic views of the Elbe and also of the Architecture of Dresden.

Grosser Garten (TOP 5) also deserves a visit, even if only a part of it, since it’s a big park (Great Garden, the name says). In its center another palace can be found.
Next… Berlin… See ya!

No seu centro encontramos, guess what, outro palácio
A seguir.. Berlim… See ya!
